In today's world, the importance of sustainable practices reaches far beyond just preserving our planet. It has become necessary for every industry to adapt to eco-friendly business methods. Route green shipping is an innovative shipping approach aimed at reducing the carbon footprint left by the transportation industry. Since using Route Green Shipping, Denver Modern has planted 108 trees at a forest and savannah restoration project in Brazil's Mato Grosso do Sul region and has had a total carbon offset of 68 tonnes! With more and more people becoming environmentally conscious, adapting sustainable practices has become necessary for businesses that want to thrive in the long run. In recent years, industries have been scrutinized for significant contributions to global carbon emissions, waste, and pollution. As an answer to this crisis, eco-friendly fabrics have become a popular and sustainable alternative to traditional materials for Denver Modern. This year we released a line of FIQA fabrics for our Vail Lounge Chairs. FIQA is 100% polyester which allows for the fabric to be recycled. The material is also made as eco-friendly as possible by using no water to dye the yarns. FIQA is also PFC Free and has OEKO-TEX® and GREENGUARD GOLD certifications. So not only are they sustainable, but they are also durable and long-lasting, allowing for less frequent purchases and less waste overall.
Alongside the FIQA fabrics, we have also introduced the Avon Lounge and Ottoman. Avon's Himalaya fabric is 100% recycled polyester: one meter utilizes at least 32 PET bottles, which would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Not only that, but it's OEKO-TEX® certified as well, which means FIQA and Himalaya fabrics contain no harmful substances and are safe for humans, pets, and the environment. But by opting for our eco-friendly fabrics, we can all do our part in preserving the planet for future generations while still creating beautiful spaces.
Lastly, offsetting carbon emissions from overseas shipping is a crucial step toward reducing our carbon footprint and minimizing the negative impacts of global warming. Denver Modern has joined a Carbon Offset Program, significantly contributing to reducing carbon emissions, resulting in an offset of 217.91 TCO₂e, contributing $3,167.46. This offset is equivalent to the carbon absorbed by 266.94 acres of forest over one year! By offsetting our emissions, we are helping protect the environment and contributing to a better and healthier future for you and our company.
