Product Details

Built around a single sculptural gesture: an interlocking-arch plaster base that reads as small architecture beneath the table. The base carries the visual weight so the top can lead with its material — an oval or circular American walnut surface with grain, figure, and natural character on full display.

The top is a hand-selected solid American walnut veneer over a stable hardwood core — a construction used in high-end architectural millwork. Chosen for their grain and figure, the solid wood veneer is applied so the surface behaves like a solid slab while also preventing warping and cracking so the piece stays flat for the life of the table. The visible surface is then expertly finished to ensure resistance to common stains and wear and tear, even after decades of dining.

Together they create a table that is quiet from across the room and layered up close. Sized for six diners, with pedestal geometry that lets chairs pull cleanly around all sides.

Sits comfortably with Canyon or Alma dining chairs. Coordinates with Reverie, Solstice, or Luna Credenza as the room's storage-and-serving companion.

Materials

The Clove Dining Table is built from two distinct material stories: a hand-finished plaster base and a hand-selected walnut top — modern and timeless, cool and warm.

Interlocking-Arch Plaster Base
• Denver Modern's first plaster moment, and the piece's primary design gesture — an interlocking-arch base that reads as small architecture beneath the table.
• Hand-finished with a sealed plaster system engineered for furniture use, not raw wall plaster.
• Plaster is lighter and warmer to the touch than natural stone, and carries none of stone's maintenance concerns.
• The interlocking-arch geometry distributes weight across a wide footprint, so the table sits stable on any hard surface. Adjustable levelers on the base.
• The base carries the visual weight so the top can lead with its material.

American Walnut Top
• A hand-selected solid American walnut veneer over a stable hardwood core — the construction used in high-end architectural millwork.
• Thick-cut, sometimes called a sawn veneer: typically 1/16" to 1/8" thick, versus the 1/40" of a standard rotary-cut veneer.
• Substantial enough that it behaves like solid wood to the touch, sands and refinishes multiple times, and shows the grain depth and figure of a full slab.
• The core underneath stops the seasonal movement that causes solid slabs to warp, cup, or split.
• The visible surface is expertly finished for resistance to common stains and wear, even after decades of dining.
• Grain, figure, and natural character on full display.

Shape and Construction
• Available as an oval or a circular top, both sized for six diners. The circular option is Denver Modern's largest circular diameter at 60", giving everyone at the table plenty of space.
• Oval geometry offers a softer conversation flow than a rectangle, and every seat has a good sightline. It reads more generous than a rectangle at the same length.
• Pedestal-style base — chairs pull cleanly around all sides, with no leg interference for the middle seats.
• Launching in a single colorway for Fall: walnut top on the interlocking-arch plaster base.

Quiet from across the room and layered up close. Sits comfortably with Canyon or Alma dining chairs, and coordinates with the Reverie, Solstice, or Luna Credenza as the room's storage-and-serving companion.

Care & Assembly

Product Care
Plaster Base
• Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. The base is hand-finished with a sealed plaster system engineered for furniture use.
• Dry promptly after wiping; do not let water stand against the plaster.
• Avoid abrasive pads, scouring cleaners, and solvents, which can dull or wear through the sealed surface.
• Do not use the base as a footrest or lean against the arches; it is a structural base, not a bearing surface for point loads.
• Check the adjustable levelers if the table develops any movement on an uneven floor.

Walnut Top
• Dust regularly with a dry microfiber cloth, following the direction of the grain.
• Wipe spills with a damp cloth and dry immediately, again working with the grain.
• The surface is coated with a durable finish ready for years of daily use — it resists common stains and everyday wear.
• Use trivets under hot dishes and coasters under wet glasses. A sealed finish handles incidental contact, but standing heat and moisture shorten its life.
• Avoid harsh chemicals, ammonia-based cleaners, silicone sprays, and abrasive materials.
• The thick-cut veneer will accept refinishing, so the top can be sanded and brought back rather than replaced.

Placement
• Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading between the walnut top and the plaster base.
• Avoid placing the table over an active heat vent or against a radiator.
• The interlocking-arch geometry sits stable on hardwood or tile; levelers handle any variation in the floor.

Moving
• Lift rather than drag. Never move the table by the top alone.
• The plaster base should be supported from below when lifting, not gripped by an individual arch.
